rscj community leeds
There is an RSCJ community in the Beeston district of Leeds. Beeston is a multicultural, multifaith community and some of our sisters work in the locality. Vivian works with different groups such as refugees and the elderly.
Steph is a psychotherapist and Marianne works
in the field of Complementary therapies and Palliative care. Anne practices as a spiritual director. Marion who recently moved to the community from our student hostel in Oxford, is building up her work (ministry) in the local area.
Beeston was thrown into the spotlight in July 2005 after the London bombings as it was the home of several of the terrorist bombers. Tension in these streets has been running high and we see part of our ministry here as being in solidarity with people of peace and goodwill from all faiths and in particular our Muslim neighbours.
