Eileen Foster and I share this house - Eileen lives downstairs and I upstairs. This has been a good experience over the last four years for we are concerned for each other and have grown in understanding and appreciation of each other's gifts and friendship. We are enriched by living in the hub of Provincial life with the Provincial and the Provincial Bursar's office in close proximity as well as having the opportunity of frequent and friendly contact with other RSCJ's living in Bute Gardens. Over the years we have offered hospitality in our individual houses. Now, the opening of No. 17 Bute Gardens as the house of hospitality is an added enrichment to our area... We are indeed privileged by living close to two parishes, St. Augustine's in Fulham and Holy Trinity in Brook Green, with the choice of having both morning and evening Masses in either church.
Throughout the year I have been enriched by our Province days, the frequent communication of news and information from the Provincial house, the Life Long Learning Programme with its culmination in August 2011 in the inspirational retreat on the Constitutions at High Leigh, Hertfordshire. Now I look forward to a year focused on deepening my appreciation of the Constitutions of the Society.
My ministry of spirituality includes leading a Scripture group who meet here, a faith sharing group who meet at St. Augustine's and another group of young adults at the same church, who come together for shared reflections on a text of Scripture. Two years ago I also started helping with the RCIA programme at St Augustine's.
My days are enriched and well filled with prayer and a varied ministry. A further important aspect is a widening of my interest and understanding of events in the world through the use of the media. Music has always played an important part in my life. Though I have no instruments I enjoy listening to the radio or watching the Proms and other concerts on television.
I am filled with gratitude for all that I receive.
